A cooperative preschool is a private nonprofit school run by its members, who are parents of the students. The school is staffed by professional teachers and operated by the parents. Co-op philosophy believes parents are a vital part of the early childhood educational experience and as such parents are encouraged to share their interests and talents in the classroom.

Our teachers have designed the classroom environment to provide the children with a wide range of opportunities to play, explore, and interact. Because development is a unique process for each child, children are encouraged to explore at their own pace. The activities centers are changed frequently, to keep the preschool environment stimulating. Additionally, outdoor playtime is scheduled everyday(escept for Parent Toddler class).

A cooperative preschool is not for everybody. Each member is required to contribute to the success of the school. You must believe that "the whole is greater than the sum of its parts" and that the more you put into the school the better it will be.

You will enjoy co-op preschool if:

• You can commit to work on your scheduled work day or provide a substitute, perform your co-op job, attend all parent meetings, provide snack on your assigned date, meet your financial tuition obligation, participate in fundraising, setup and clean preschool on assigned dates
• You are excited about playing with your own and other co-op children
• You are flexible
• You take initiative to help other at the preschool when you see a task needs to be done
